SHORT HISTORY
Dr. John Kimole while undergoing studies in Switzerland met Dr. Strupler where they both had a vision to train and bring up capable christian leaders. On his return to Kenya and Equiped with this Vision born in Switzerland Dr. Kimole Started a Bible College at Kahawa West Neno Baptist Church Nairobi. with an aim of Training, a building producing Biblically and Proffesionally sound christians for the purpose of arresting Kenyan leadership and replacing it with wholistic leadership lead by the holy spirit for the glory of God.
Dr. Strupler was quite in hand assisting Dr. kimole in planning and finance. This Duo relationship resulted in a successful bible college then called ICW. Dr Strupler having had academic interest at IGW Switzerland, He organized for the ICW college in Kenya then manned by Dr. Kimole to train students but recieve certificates from IGW Switzerland. The College had a long term vision and Dr. Kimole with the help of Dr. Strupler was able to arrange for the school to become accredited by the commission for higher education. There aim was to straight away establish ICW as a fully fledged university in Kenya. Application to this effect is still pending. However the school succeded to train and graduate one class in nairobi. In 2001 Dr. Kimole moved to Kisumu and established yet another branch of ICW college in Kisumu and yet another in mombasa. All these times Dr. Struplor remained a handy financier and a supervisor of quality. The School in Kisumu was located in Milimani Baptist Church and it admitted both Diploma and Degree Courses.
In 2004 the governement of Kenya issued a gazatte notice under Kenya Gazatte Suppliment No. 65 which amended the university act Cap. 210 to include a condition itemized as Cap 210b in which all colleges in kenya which undertakes post secondary education to apply to the commission for higher education and seek authority for validation of its programs and collaboration with any other accredited university or institution. The law was to come in force with effect from 1st July 2005.
On 27th June 2005 three days before the elapse for the governement for the application to Commission for higher Education for validation of programs and authority to colaborate. Rev. Nathan Ondego then a student of ICW and in liason with Dr. John Kimole made the application to the commission for higher education and validation process commenced this action admitted Rev. Ondego in the Vision that was started by both Dr. Kimole and Dr. Strupler and then became one of the stakeholders carrying out similar objectives.
There were many requirements by the commission for higher education which required a proffesional and Professor Wangari readily filled this gap. The Vision started by both Dr. Kimole and Dr. Strupler has grown into a wild tree and it has provided shelter to a many persons wishing to undertake a christian led training for their personal betterment and that of the world atlarge. ICW later changed its name to PaulMark Training Institute and now Paulmark College and in 2005 July the college passed out a very colorful graduation ceremony with students from the then ICW Nairobi, Mombasa and PaulMark training institute Kisumu. The students walked through Kisumu streets clad in there graduation gowns to Aga khan hall where Dr. Strupler Confered the Degrees.
Upon completion of paperwork, it was necessary that an institution which is accredited do address the commission for higher eduacation so that they may consider the PaulMark Application. Prof. Goodheer came in handy and wrote a recommendation letter to the commission listing out his desire to assist PaulMark College to in its establishment based on the legal framework of Kenya. Dr. Goodheer did not stop at that but he also granted a collaboration relationship to Paulmark with his accredited institution.
PaulMark has been established to train able leaders grounded on a Christian foundation with an intention of producing men and women into a busy business world with a full concept of realization of Christ as the source of all leadership. Our existence is dependent on the following objectives:
We exist to train and produce sound leadership equipping trainees with modern technology ready to face a fast changing world in economics, leadership and triumph through the 21st Century with a bang.
We intent to inject a biblically sound leadership, which is contextual in nature and in application to community life.
We are established so as to participate in promoting strategies of Education, Social Services, social actions and healthy community governance.
We also forge ahead to nature dialogue towards holistic approach to leadership at local, national and international levels in issues of contemporary nature
